DOWN MANDALAS DEEP
HE SAW THE LIGHT
OF DAZZLED SYMMETRY
AND ALL ABOUT AROSE
THE SAGES OF THE WORLD
 
WHAT HAUNTS THE VERY HEART
MUST BE PERCEIVED AND GONE BEYOND
THROUGH TIME
THROUGH SPACE
TO HARMONY
AND SO BE FREE OF HARM
AND RIDE THE BOUNDLESS SEA AGAIN
TOWARD JOY AND WISE SERENITY

WHAT IS MY NAME?

 

I am legend in this legendary world

I exist for those who believe in me

And survive through those who deny me

In their mirrored eyes I remain forever

Unreflected

My cape of night swirls out and covers all

As the fist hint of dawn appears

I recede into the shadows

For I can only sleep before the light of day

I possess the power of twenty men

And the accumulated cunning of four centuries

 

I know of the illusions which make up your brief lives

Your passing is my coming to be

Your blood, my strength

When those who know confront me

I seek for their destruction

If they be formidable

I withdraw to sleep deep in my hidden cavern

There to arise once more

As from out of the mist

Beyond the tombs

While darkness calls unvanquished

From a distant place

Beyond your rage in time
