Progenitors of our most secret psychic
Custodians of the Universe’s judgement.
Asimov, Bradbury and Clarke created more gods
Than Greco-Romans and Indians all put together
Using talents found in the sciences
They destroyed them all in a couple of sentences
Writing their stories smooth as the Zephyr
A crime no one, except they, ever remark
The ethereal values of Asimov, Bradbury and Clarke.
We no longer know what revolution brews
Far beyond thought, with no time to muse
What old-time philosophers thought was our bulwark
Is only a dream or a green balloon
Simple words to put to a time
For Asimov, Bradbury and Clarke.
So when the story of humanity’s told
The unabridged versions, the one that gets sold
To the new race emergent, the cockroach or fly
While naught to be thought of that wasn’t a lie,
The torch that was lit and soon to be dark
Will be resurrected by re-reading Asimov, Bradbury and Clarke.
